To eat clean (or eating clean if you prefer) refers to a diet that’s based purely on whole foods (foods that are as close to their natural state as possible). A big part of it is avoiding processed, refined and junk foods at all costs.
Whole and natural foods help you fight and protect yourself from diseases, flush toxins from your system and help you to feel better about yourself.
Tips on how to eat clean
When you eat clean you provide your body with the protein, carbohydrates and other nutrients it needs to function properly and grow.
If your goal is to build lean muscle, then you should be aiming for an average ratio of 30/40/30 protein/carbs/fat. You can calculate your macro nutrients calories here.
Spread your meals evenly throughout the day and aim to consume 5-6 small balanced meals. Think about preparation too. If you have a full time job, are at university or college, then you need to prepare your meals in the evening ready to take with you in the morning.
